1976-1981 – studied at the Philological Faculty of the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (now KazNU named after al-Farabi) (Almaty); 1982-1989 – research intern, full- time postgraduate program at Moscow State University named after V.I. Lenin (now MGPU) (Moscow); 1989 – defense of candidate's dissertation "Glosses in monuments of Russian writing as materials for historical lexicology and historical lexicography" Scientific supervisor - Professor S.G. Kapralova, scientific consultant Professor I.G. Dobrodomov (Moscow); 1989-2002 – worked at the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi (Almaty); 1998 – defense of doctoral dissertation “Explication of semantics of linguistic units and lexicographic definitions” at al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty) in two specialties: 10.02.01 – Russian language: 10.02.20 – comparative-historical typological and comparative linguistics.
